The Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) is organizing the 11th event of its monthly series, DIALOGUES, on the occasion of Germany’s renowned Oktoberfest celebration. The event is organized in collaboration with the German Embassy in Athens, and will take place at 17:30 on Friday, October 19th, at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center.
The event will present the relationship between Greece and Germany, the customs of the two countries, the prevailing stereotypes surrounding the two nations and their citizens, focusing on what unites us, at an event for the “Greek Oktoberfest.” Renowned speakers will retrace the past, focusing on landmark historical moments, which have acted as milestones for the relationship between the two European countries, as well as explore the basis for cooperation, now and in the future.

Mr. Yiannis Boutaris, the Mayor of Thessaloniki
Mr. Stefanos Tsialis, the Artistic Director of the Athens State Orchestra
Mr. Michael Skibbe, the Coach of the Greek National Men’s Football Team
The discussion will be moderated by journalist Anna-Kynthia Bousdoukou.
Following the event, we will bring a little taste of Munich to the SNFCC, setting up our own celebration, full of German delicacies, music and, of course, an ample amount of beer!
